Location:   Deptford Creek, London
Title:   Dance Center Alegria

Year:   2016

Description: The project is a leisure center that uses dance and nature as means to create a stress-free environment for the community of Deptford. The design of the building rotates around the concept of viewing architecture where different spaces are created so that people could both participate in dance performances or simply enjoy the beauty of one. The building uses a grid distributed column system for primary support where the columns are individually designed so that they can also be used as planters on top of which small gardens are allocated. The building has an external timber cladding that is used to create a more continues flow of the entire development and is also used as a shading system for the many windows and the glazed front facade that faces South.
